Back to Middle-Earth

This week my regular gaming group picked up our LOTR narrative campaign again. Hoping to complete all the Fellowship scenarios before the end of the year. The saga is kicking off small scale first with some wraiths and Dunedain before things start getting really interesting.

Fist mission saw the rangers attempting to stall the Ringwraiths entering the Shire.

The Men of Arnor put their best efforts into stopping the wraiths. Succeeding with a last minute bow shot that  banished  a wraith at the final hurdle. (Literally, the dippy sod failed to jump the wall and then got pin cushioned.)

Next mission put all nine wraiths on the board. They still needed to break through the Dunedain lines into Hobbit country, but it would take a bit of a run to achieve it.

At the final hedge row, marking the boarders to Hobbiton, the Rangers made their stand against the Nazgul, but it was in vain. Evil would not be denied this time.

For Game 3, the Nazgul were on the hunt. Frodo, Sam and Merry had to escape before the Wraiths could slay the Ringbearer.

Sam makes a valiant stand against the wraith...
... as his master escapes to safety.

A short write up, but some fun games. 2/3 wins to the goodies with the wraiths mildly annoyed, but far from defeated. The next few games will be played next month, in that time I've ferry and barge to build and I want to paint my Fellowship Gandalf model if I get the chance. Credit to Mike who painted the Rangers and Hobbits, I just did the Ringwraiths for this one.
