Deff Metal Boyz

Once again, back painting some greenskins, this time a few Kruelboyz for Warcry. Unlike my hyper cartoony style for my retro 40K orks, these ladz have been given a bit more of a muted palette for a change.

I was somewhat intimidated by these models. Not sure if it was the style or the fact I didn't quite know how to go about getting the grungy scavenger look that I had in mind. I knew I wanted the big shields to be a focus point for the group so they would be done in a much more contrasting set of colours versus the more earthy tones of the orcs

I'm painting up a few characters and I need to finish off the sculpting for the hobgoblins, but so far this little band of savages has been rather enjoyable. There is a part of me that wants to build an AoS army, but so far I'm fighting that urge on the grounds I don't like Age of Sigmars current rules. Nothing against anyone who does, but I've tried a few times to get into it with my Goblins and I can't quite get excited about it. My buddy is eager to try and learn with his Khorne Deamons so maybe I'll give it another go sometime.

Dirty Goblin Feet

Something I've been working on. My gaming group have been playing a casual Warcry campaign recently and I been using my Orruk Kruelboyz. Been a lot of fun and has spurred me to get the boyz painted as my next project. On the side lines, I started rummaging in my bits box and found all the spare Hobgrot bodies from the kit. Most of these could be finished into complete models with some armour and filler on the torsos, but the biggest step to get these half-a-models finished would be to sculpt some legs as all of the spare torsos only had the one.

It's been a while since I did any major sculpting work like this and it's been a great bit of practice for sculpting feet. Things turned out really well I think. Obviously I need to get the rest of the models done, but C&C is always appreciated.

Sneaky Sneaking

I've been a bit all over the place this last month, nothing too stressful, but limited hobby time. More time playing than painting for a change. That said I was able to get a few small bits done. Namely this stealthy duo.

I'm still mucking about with the fluorescent paints I got for Xmas. I need some more practice to get to grips with them. I tried out the green on the Callidus's blade and gun. The Blade looks ok, but I think the gun looks a bit off. I also tried out some red on the eyes for both assassins, it looks pretty good, but it's obviously turned a bit pink when you look too closely.

The plan is to have one of these stab monkeies included with my Imperial Fists army just to add some extra flavour. That's it for now. Until next time.
