A Sneaky Proof of Concept

Following on from the Retro Snakebites and the Goffs before them, it's time for next stage of the great Oldhammer Ork project. This time I'm doing a Blood Axe Clan, something a risky choice currently as 40k is a few months from it's 10th Edition rules release and the sneaky tactics of the Blood Axes are unlikely to play too well during these early stages. That said, when have I ever worried about using sub-optimal armies. Here are a few pics of the first finished Orks and some Grots for good measure.

Once again, I'm limiting the pallet slightly so the Clans will all look like a single army when set up together, but the big change for these lads is the use of Blood Axe camo patterns. Nothing too in depth as this is going to appear on every model, including the vehicles, so I want to keep it as simple as possible.

I've got plenty more to work on before the army makes the table, but I hope to get at least a playable force done in time for 10th. For now, here are some work-in-progress shots of the Kommandos and the Warboss.

GHOULS!!!

Just a short post this time about a pack of old school Ghouls I've been neglecting for quite some time.

These brutal little beggars wrap up my Mordhiem Undead Warband, so I'll take some group shots at some point.

Wasteland Gets City Hall

I've been sprucing up some of my Wasteland Settlement scenery lately, adding a few posters and fixing some minor ware and tare from gaming. During the fixings, I dug out a building kit from TTcombat that I bought ages ago and decided to build it over the bank holiday weekend. To my shock, this thing turned out to be huge. I expected it to act as a bar or a small hall but the damn thing is almost as big as the Ork fort. Understand, these are not complaints, but it was a shock during construction.

Anyways, here are a few pictures of the finished Scrap Town City Hall/Drinking Hole. The posters have become my favourite thing on scenery lately and this building alone is a fantastic example for why. A few scruffy bits of paper and glue and the build (heck the whole town at the time of writing) has gained so much character.

Here are few action shots for size comparisons.

Looking ahead, I purchased some MDF walls to use in Boarding Action games and Necromunda. Really looking forward to giving them a similar treatment.
