An Evening In

I meant to post this up last month and completely forgot I had written it, so here's another Turnip28 show case because, why not?

I hadn't been able to play too much large scale stuff of late due to my FLGS moving to a new venue. This meant my storage locker had to be emptied and my bigger armies were moved back to the house. No big issue as I've been happy playing pick up games like Blood Bowl and Warcry for the meanwhile, but last week I was fortunate to get an evening off at the same time as my regular Turnip28 buddy. A quick favour from the creator of the game netted me a copy of the updated rules a couple of days early(Thanks again Max) and we were good to go.

We setup for the Misty Swamp mission, With both us deploying diagonally and right in each others faces. This worked well for me as I was using the Root Shrine and knew that with a little aggression I could get in close and let the zealots do their work. My house mate has started work on his Grogs, but has borrowed a few of my models to fill out his ranks for this game. With his Toff starting off the board it gave me some time to really push forward before he'd any real control of his army. That said, he was rocking a stump gun and a lot of elite rifles in the 2 units of Grogs and a unit of Chaff snipers.

Early turns were quick and brutal with casualties on both sides.

But it was a lucky volley from the Gleebland Rabble that swung things into my favour: obliterating a unit of Grogs and leaving the survivor open to the Cavalry Whelps.

The remaining Grogs attempt to take their revenge, but a driven back through weight of fire.

A resounding victory to the Gleebland Wanders and their terrifying Root Chapel. Until next time.
